Seepex® Progressive Cavity Pump Components

Seepex® Replacement Stators

Replacement stators for supported Seepex® BN, MD, BT and CS progressive cavity pumps, selected by complete model, pumping-element geometry, dimensions and service conditions.

ACCA evaluates the installed pump, required stator, elastomer compatibility and operating demands. Photographs, measurements, drawings or a physical sample may be needed to confirm special and legacy constructions.

Replacement Stators for Seepex® Pumps

The stator is the resilient half of the progressive-cavity pumping element. Its internal helical profile forms sealed cavities with the rotor. Correct geometry and controlled rotor-to-stator interference are essential for capacity, pressure performance and service life.

A replacement cannot be selected reliably from overall appearance alone. The complete pump model, element geometry, stage configuration, stator length, end construction, elastomer and operating conditions all matter.

Identification standard: Begin with the complete pump model and support it with dimensions, photographs, drawings or a sample.

Information Needed to Identify a Seepex® Stator

Complete Pump Model

Provide every letter, number and suffix available from the nameplate or equipment records.

Stator Dimensions

Include overall length, outside diameter, end diameters, flange or clamp details, bolt pattern and visible internal geometry.

Clear Photographs

Send full-length views plus close-ups of both ends, markings, connections and damaged areas.

Process Conditions

Identify the fluid, concentration, temperature, solids, abrasion, differential pressure, speed and cleaning chemicals.

Known Material

Provide the current elastomer when known and describe swelling, hardening, cracking or other prior failures.

Drawing or Sample

A dimensional drawing or physical sample can resolve unusual, modified and legacy constructions.

Stator Elastomer Selection

Elastomer selection must reflect the complete fluid and operating environment. A compound that performs well in one service can swell, harden, soften or crack in another.

Material Family Typical Selection Considerations Confirm Before Selection
NBR Common industrial services, oils and general abrasion resistance Fluid chemistry, temperature, aromatic content and cleaning agents
EPDM Water-based fluids, selected chemicals and elevated-temperature aqueous service Oil or hydrocarbon exposure, concentration and cleaning chemistry
FKM Selected chemicals, fuels, oils and higher-temperature duties Exact chemical blend, temperature, abrasion and low-temperature demands
Natural Rubber Abrasive water-based slurries and selected solids-bearing service Oil exposure, oxidation, temperature and chemical compatibility
CR, CSM and SBR Application-specific chemical, weathering or abrasion requirements Full fluid composition, temperature and prior material history
Other Compounds Specialized process, food-contact or difficult chemical requirements All regulatory, sanitation, cleaning and compatibility requirements
Material note: material availability and suitability are confirmed for the specific model and application. Pump-family or industry terminology alone does not establish a certification or compliance rating.

Common Stator Wear and Failure Indicators

Abrasion and Scoring

Signs: enlarged cavities, grooves, reduced capacity or inability to hold pressure. Review solids, speed and rotor condition.

Swelling or Softening

Signs: high starting torque, restricted rotor movement or distorted elastomer. Review the complete fluid and cleaning chemistry.

Hardening and Cracking

Signs: brittle rubber, surface cracks or loss of sealing. Review temperature, age, oxidation and chemical exposure.

Dry-Run Heat Damage

Signs: burned, glazed, torn or separated elastomer. Correct loss-of-prime and dry-run protection issues before restart.

Chunking or Delamination

Signs: missing rubber, separation from the tube or rapid localized failure. Review debris, chemistry, pressure and assembly.

Slip and Capacity Loss

Signs: reduced output as differential pressure rises. Inspect the rotor and stator together before replacing one component.

Why the Rotor Should Be Checked Too

The rotor and stator function as a matched pumping pair. Rotor wear, corrosion, coating loss or dimensional change can prevent a new stator from delivering its expected performance and life.

Inspection Point What to Check Why It Matters
Rotor surface Scoring, pitting, corrosion, coating loss and deposits Surface defects can damage the new stator and increase leakage
Rotor dimensions Major and minor dimensions, eccentric geometry and wear pattern Controls interference and cavity sealing
Stator bore Uniformity, wear, swelling, cracking and localized heat damage Shows whether failure is mechanical, chemical or operational
Operating history Dry running, pressure events, speed changes and material changes Helps prevent repeat failure after replacement

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I identify a replacement Seepex® stator?

Provide the complete pump model, stator dimensions, clear photographs and process conditions. A drawing or sample may be needed for special or legacy constructions.

Does ACCA need a Seepex® OEM part number?

No. The identification process is based on the complete model, pumping-element details, dimensions and application information.

Which elastomer is best for my application?

The answer depends on the complete fluid composition, concentration, temperature, solids, abrasion, pressure, speed and cleaning agents. Prior material performance is also useful.

Should I replace the rotor with the stator?

Not automatically, but both should be inspected together. A worn or damaged rotor can reduce performance and shorten the life of a replacement stator.

Can ACCA support hygienic or food applications?

ACCA can evaluate supported configurations when the customer provides the required material, sanitation and cleaning criteria. Suitability and any compliance requirements must be confirmed for the specific application.
