Drive and joint replacement components for supported Seepex® progressive cavity pumps

Replacement Drive-Train Components for Seepex® Pumps

A progressive cavity pump drive train transfers motor torque to a rotor that moves eccentrically inside the stator. Coupling rods and articulated joint components accommodate that motion while drive shafts, pins, bushings, sleeves, retainers and seals maintain alignment and protect loaded interfaces.

These components are construction-specific. The pump range, complete model, joint type, shaft and connection geometry, material and dimensions must be confirmed before replacement.

Identification standard: provide the complete model and name the component required. Include full-assembly photographs plus close-ups and dimensions of each connection and wear surface.

Seepex® Drive and Joint Components

Coupling Rods

Torque-transmission members reviewed for overall length, end geometry, joint construction, material and operating load.

Drive Shafts

Shafts confirmed from complete model, diameters, shoulders, threads, keyways, seal surfaces and drive connection.

Joint Pins

Loaded joint components selected around pin diameter, length, retention method, material and mating parts.

Bushings

Wear bushings reviewed for inside and outside diameter, width, material and fitted joint arrangement.

Joint Sleeves

Protective or loaded sleeves confirmed from model, location, wall dimensions, material and mating geometry.

Retainers and Hardware

Rings, clips, locking pieces, plugs, fasteners and related retention components for supported constructions.

Joint Seals

Boots, sleeves, O-rings and sealing elements selected around fluid, temperature, movement and joint design.

Repair Sets

Grouped wear components evaluated for the complete model and exact joint construction rather than assumed interchangeability.

Special and Legacy Parts

Uncommon components evaluated using accurate photographs, measurements, drawings or physical samples.

Information Needed for Identification

Complete Pump Model

Provide every letter, number and suffix available from the nameplate or equipment records.

Component and Location

Name the required item and show where it fits within the drive train or joint assembly.

Overall Dimensions

Record lengths, diameters, shoulder positions, wall thicknesses and connection measurements.

Connection Geometry

Document threads, keyways, splines, cross holes, pins, flats, shoulders and retention features.

Clear Photographs

Send full views and close-ups of both ends, wear surfaces, markings and damaged areas.

Service Conditions

Include fluid, temperature, solids, corrosion, speed, pressure and known torque or failure conditions.

Common Drive and Joint Wear Indicators

Pin and Bushing Wear

Signs: looseness, impact marks, elongated holes or metallic debris. Inspect all mating joint components.

Sleeve Damage

Signs: grooves, cracks, thinning or distortion. Review alignment, lubrication, contamination and loading.

Connection Wear

Signs: damaged threads, rounded keyways, worn flats or loose fits. Measure both mating components.

Seal or Boot Failure

Signs: tears, leakage, swelling or loss of lubricant. Check chemistry, temperature and joint movement.

Rod or Shaft Damage

Signs: bending, cracking, fretting or localized wear. Investigate torque, alignment and pressure events.

Noise and Vibration

Signs: knocking, cyclic vibration or movement at the joint. Stop and inspect before secondary damage occurs.

Inspect the Assembly, Not Only One Wear Part

Inspection Area What to Check Why It Matters
Joint pairings Pins, bushings, sleeves, holes and retainers A new component can wear rapidly against a damaged mating surface
Coupling rod Straightness, end geometry, cracks and fretting Transfers torque while accommodating eccentric rotor motion
Drive shaft Keyways, threads, shoulders, seal surface and runout Affects alignment, sealing and torque transmission
Sealing elements Boots, O-rings, sleeves and lubricant condition Contamination or lubricant loss accelerates joint wear
Rotor connection Pin bores, threads, flats and mating geometry Damage can propagate into the rotor and complete drive train

How to Request Drive and Joint Parts

1. Record the model

Send the complete pump designation exactly as shown in the equipment records.

2. Identify the item

Name the coupling rod, shaft, pin, bushing, sleeve, retainer, seal or repair component required.

3. Photograph the assembly

Show how the part fits, then provide close-ups of both ends and all critical features.

4. Add dimensions

Provide overall dimensions plus all fits, connections, holes, threads, keyways and shoulders.

5. Describe the failure

Explain the wear pattern, operating conditions and any recent noise, vibration, leakage or overload.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I identify a Seepex® joint component?

Provide the complete pump model, component name, assembly photographs and accurate dimensions. A drawing or physical sample may be needed.

Should pins and bushings be inspected together?

Yes. A worn mating component can damage a new part or leave excessive clearance in the repaired joint.

Can ACCA supply a complete joint repair set?

ACCA can evaluate grouped components for supported models when the exact joint construction and required items are confirmed.

What dimensions are needed for a drive shaft?

Provide total length, all diameters and shoulders, threads, keyways, holes, seal surfaces and connection details.

Can ACCA evaluate a special or obsolete coupling rod?

Yes, when accurate photographs, dimensions, an existing drawing or a physical sample are available to establish the required geometry.

Are food or hygienic joint components automatically certified?

No. Any required material, finish, product-contact approval or certification must be stated and explicitly confirmed for the quoted replacement.

Need pumping-element components?

Review ACCA’s dedicated Seepex® rotor and stator pages for material, identification and wear guidance.
