Roper® 70400 Series Pump Parts

Crowned gear-joint progressive cavity pump replacement parts

The Roper® 70400 family uses a sealed crowned gear-joint drive system for demanding progressive cavity pump service. ACCA Pumps supports replacement pumping elements and documented gear-joint service components for applicable 70400 configurations.

Roper® 70400 Gear-Joint Engineering Overview

Unlike the 70200 and 70300 pin-joint families, the 70400 uses a crowned gear joint. Roper® describes the joint as sealed from the pumped liquid, with greater wear area and lower stresses for applications where joint life, maintenance interval and uptime are critical.

Crowned Gear Joint

Hub gears and ring gears transmit torque through a sealed gear-joint assembly rather than the conventional pin-joint arrangement.

SWG Replacement Coverage

Roper®’s current parts book contains dedicated SWG10 and SWG12 drive-end cross-reference sections, including SWG8, SWG10, SWG10H, SWG12 and SWG12H references.

Heavy-Duty Service

The 70400 configuration is intended for demanding torque, viscosity, pressure and abrasive-service applications where longer maintenance intervals are valuable.

Identify both the pumping element and gear-joint drive end

Provide the complete Roper® figure number, serial number, existing part number, stage count, material construction and stator elastomer. Gear-joint service components must be matched to the correct drive-end group; do not select them from displacement alone.

PCP ENGINEERING

Progressive Cavity Engineering Note — Joint & Drive Reliability

The drive train must transmit torque while accommodating the eccentric motion of the rotor. Joint condition, lubrication, alignment and bearing support are therefore important to reliable PCP operation, especially as torque and differential pressure increase.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the Roper® 70400 different from the 70200 and 70300?

The 70200 and 70300 are pin-joint configurations. The 70400 uses a crowned gear-joint drive system sealed from the pumped liquid.

Does Roper® document SWG replacement parts?

Yes. Roper®’s 2026 parts book contains dedicated SWG10 and SWG12 drive-end sections with explicit 7X4xx cross-references and gear-joint service part numbers.

What components are unique to the gear-joint design?

Documented gear-joint components include hub gears, ring gears, coupling housings, connecting-rod assemblies, stub shafts and thrust plates in addition to bearings, seals, packing, rotors and stators.

What information should I send ACCA for identification?

Send the complete pump figure, serial number, existing component number, construction and photographs when available.

Need Roper® 70400 Gear-Joint Parts?

Send the complete Roper® figure number and the parts you need. ACCA can help identify the correct gear-joint and pumping-element components.
