Moyno L-Frame Parts Engineering Overview

The L-Frame is a long-established progressive cavity pump configuration built around a pin-joint drive train. The design uses a rotor pinned to a connecting rod and a drive shaft, with the joint components accessible in the suction-housing area. This construction is distinct from the gear-joint arrangement used in the Moyno 2000 Series.

Pin-Joint Drive Train

The L-Frame uses exposed pin joints to transmit torque through the connecting rod to the rotor. During overhaul, pins, joint bores, bushings, retaining hardware and mating surfaces should be inspected together.

Threaded Stator Configuration

Traditional L-Frame construction uses threaded stator arrangements. Pump model, element size, stages, stator construction and material specification should be confirmed before selecting a replacement.

Serviceable Rotating Assembly

The L-Frame layout allows maintenance personnel to service the rotor, stator, connecting rod and drive components as part of a planned pump overhaul while retaining the installed piping arrangement when appropriate.

Before You Order L-Frame Parts

Have the complete pump identification available whenever possible.

Provide the pump model, stage configuration, serial number, trim or material information, OEM part number when known, and photographs of the nameplate or worn components. L-Frame parts vary by element size, stages, metallurgy, sealing arrangement and drive-end configuration.

Why Facilities Use ACCA L-Frame Replacement Parts

Model-Based Identification

Parts are selected around the complete L-Frame model, stage count, materials and sealing arrangement rather than appearance alone.

OEM Part Number Support

Existing OEM part numbers can be used to help identify the applicable ACCA replacement reference.

Material Review

Rotor, stator, joint and sealing materials can be reviewed around the actual process fluid and operating conditions.

Pin-Joint Expertise

Maintenance support considers the complete pin-joint drive train, including pins, connecting rods, drive shafts and associated wear surfaces.

Engineering Support

ACCA can assist with identification when only a model, nameplate, old part number or worn component is available.

Complete Pump Solutions

Support extends from individual replacement parts and kits to complete OEM-compatible L-Frame pump assemblies.

Industrial Applications for L-Frame Progressive Cavity Pumps

Wastewater Treatment

Sludge, polymers, chemicals and other viscous or solids-bearing process streams.

Chemical Processing

Metering and transfer duties where steady, low-pulsation displacement is important.

Food & Beverage

Viscous and shear-sensitive process fluids where progressive cavity pumping is appropriate.

Mining & Minerals

Slurries and abrasive process fluids requiring controlled positive-displacement transfer.

Oil & Gas

Viscous liquids, produced-fluid duties and industrial transfer applications.

Pulp & Paper

Stock, coatings, additives and other process fluids requiring steady transfer.

Maintenance Recommendations for L-Frame Pumps

Inspect the Pin Joints

Check pins, bores, bushings, retaining hardware and mating surfaces for wear, deformation or excessive clearance during scheduled maintenance.

Evaluate Rotor and Stator Together

Wear in either pumping element can increase slip and reduce pressure or capacity. Inspect the rotor surface and stator condition as a pair.

Review Bearings and Seals

Inspect bearings, grease seals, packing or mechanical-seal components whenever the drive end is opened for major service.

Check the Connecting Rod

Inspect the connecting rod and joint interfaces for alignment, wear and evidence of a previous torque or solids upset.

Confirm Stator Construction

Verify stator type, stages, elastomer or rigid material, and process compatibility before substitution.

Document Existing Parts

Record OEM part numbers, nameplate information, photographs and relevant dimensions before disassembly when possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Moyno L-Frame pump?

The L-Frame is a progressive cavity pump family that uses a pin-joint drive train between the drive shaft, connecting rod and rotor. The family has been produced in multiple element sizes, stage configurations and material combinations.

How do I identify my L-Frame model?

Start with the complete model number on the pump nameplate. For this catalog, supported element sizes are L2, L3, L4, L6, L8, L10, L10H, L12 and L12H. The stage count and drive-end configuration must also be confirmed.

Which L-Frame replacement parts are available?

Supported replacement categories include pin-joint components, rotors, stators, connecting rods, drive shafts, bearings, seals, packing components, repair kits and complete replacement pumps.

Can individual pin-joint components be replaced?

Many pin-joint components can be serviced individually. Inspect all mating joint components during overhaul because wear in one component can affect adjacent parts.

What information should I provide for an L-Frame parts quotation?

Provide the complete model, serial number, stage count, OEM part number when known, quantity, and photographs of the nameplate or component. Material and operating information can also help confirm the correct configuration.

Does ACCA supply complete L-Frame replacement pumps?

Yes. ACCA supplies complete OEM-compatible progressive cavity pump assemblies for supported L-Frame installations in addition to individual replacement components.

Need Help Identifying Moyno L-Frame Parts?

Send the complete pump model, serial number, stage configuration, OEM part number when available, and photographs. ACCA can review the information and help identify the appropriate replacement components.
