Progressive Cavity Pumps for Marine Fuel & Viscous Liquid Transfer

Positive-displacement transfer for viscous marine fuels, oils and shipboard process liquids across changing temperature conditions.

Viscous Shipboard Transfer

Positive displacement where viscosity challenges centrifugal pumps

Marine fuels and oils may exhibit large viscosity changes between cold startup, storage and heated operating conditions. Progressive cavity pumps can provide controlled flow for selected transfer and service duties when the inlet system and pump speed are designed around the highest expected viscosity.

Selection Framework

Use the full temperature-viscosity envelope

Cold liquid can impose substantially higher suction losses and torque than heated product. Selection should include startup viscosity, normal transfer temperature, required pressure, suction lift, line size, available speed and motor power.
