Progressive Cavity Polymer Feed Pumps
Controlled, low-pulsation delivery of viscous and shear-sensitive polymers for sludge conditioning, thickening and dewatering processes.

Why progressive cavity pumps are used for polymer feed
Many wastewater polymers are viscous and sensitive to mechanical shear. Progressive cavity pumps combine useful metering behavior with low-pulsation positive-displacement flow and can handle many neat and diluted polymer solutions when correctly selected.
Smooth delivery supports consistent chemical feed and process control.
Capacity is approximately proportional to pump speed across the usable range.
Suitable for many neat and diluted polymer solutions with proper inlet design.
Helps limit unnecessary mechanical degradation of shear-sensitive polymer.
Size around dosage range, viscosity and displacement
Define minimum, normal and maximum dosage rather than selecting only for peak flow. For very low feed rates, displacement per revolution becomes particularly important, while neat polymer viscosity can strongly influence suction performance.
The complete polymer feed system matters
Pump speed, rotor/stator geometry, downstream valves, mixers and piping can all contribute to mechanical shear. The pump should deliver the required dosage without unnecessary rotational speed, and the complete conditioning system should be reviewed rather than considering the pump alone.
Coordinate with sludge feed
Effective conditioning promotes floc formation and solids-liquid separation. Polymer dosage should track sludge flow and solids loading for the downstream dewatering equipment.
Compatibility should be checked against the actual polymer
Stator elastomer, seals and metallic wetted parts should be checked against the specific polymer formulation, carrier fluid, cleaning chemicals and operating temperature rather than assuming all wastewater polymers behave identically.
Protect the metering pump
- Discharge-pressure protection
- Dry-run protection
- Motor overload protection
- VFD operating limits
