How to Read a Moyno® 2000 Pump Nameplate

A practical guide to decoding the frame designation, displacement, joint style, construction materials and trim code before ordering pumps or replacement parts.

The complete model designation is one of the most useful pieces of information a maintenance team can provide when identifying a Moyno® 2000 Series installation.

Why the Nameplate Matters

The nameplate identifies the pump configuration used in the installation. Record the complete model exactly as stamped, along with the serial number and rotation information. This helps distinguish parts that may share a nominal pump size but use different drive ends, joints, materials or construction details.

Before Ordering Parts

Send the complete model designation—not only the series or capacity. A clear nameplate photograph is especially useful when identifying rotors, stators, connecting components, seals and complete replacement pumps.

Example Model: 1G065G1 CDQ AAA

The designation can be read in three sections:

1G065G1

Frame designation
Stages, drive-end size, displacement code, joint style and suction-housing style.

CDQ

Type designation
Construction/material codes for the suction housing, metallic wetted components and stator.

AAA

Trim code
Identifies standard or special construction variations.

Frame Designation: 1G065G1

Position Example Meaning
First character 1 Number of pumping stages. Additional stages increase differential-pressure capability; they do not multiply displacement.
Second character G Drive-end size. 2000 Series drive-end designations include E, F, G, H, J and K.
Third–fifth characters 065 Theoretical displacement code. In this example, 065 corresponds to approximately 6.5 gallons per 100 revolutions.
Sixth character G Universal-joint style. Common designations include G = gear joint, P = pin joint and F = flex joint.
Seventh character 1 Suction-housing style. Typical designations include 1 = flanged suction, 2 = open throat and 3 = open throat with bridge breaker.

Capacity Code vs. Actual Flow

The displacement code describes theoretical displacement. Actual delivered flow depends on RPM and operating conditions, including differential pressure, viscosity, rotor/stator fit, wear and internal slip.

Type Designation: CDQ

The three-character type designation identifies major construction materials.

First Letter — Suction Housing Material

Code Material
C Cast Iron
S 316 Stainless Steel
W Cast Steel
E Carpenter 20 stainless steel
H Hastelloy® C
M Monel®
X Special material

Second Letter — Rotor & Metallic Wetted Components

Code Material
D Alloy steel
G 416 stainless steel
J 17-4 PH stainless steel
S 316 stainless steel
H Hastelloy® C
M Monel®

Third Letter — Stator Material

Code Stator Material
Q Nitrile, 70 durometer
C Nitrile, 50 durometer
M Nitrile 100M
B EPDM
F Fluoroelastomer (FKM)
K Hypalon®
R Natural rubber
U Urethane
Z White nitrile

Therefore, the example CDQ identifies a cast-iron suction housing, alloy-steel rotor/metallic wetted construction and a 70-durometer nitrile stator.

Trim Code: AAA

The final three characters identify construction variations. AAA represents standard construction in this designation system. Other letters can identify application-specific variations such as sealing, internal construction or rotor options. When the trim differs from AAA, record the complete code rather than assuming interchangeability.

Verify Rotation Before Startup

Use the rotation arrow on the actual pump nameplate as the governing reference. Rotation should be checked after motor installation, electrical work or maintenance before placing the pump into service.
